MIHAS 2025: Driving Global Excellence in the Halal Industry

MIHAS 2025 Soft Launch at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre on 30 April 2025.
Since its inception in 2004, the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) has evolved into a dynamic global hub for the Halal industry. It serves as a platform for fostering innovation, forging strategic partnerships, and creating diverse opportunities throughout the Halal value chain. MIHAS has played a key role in driving Malaysia’s economic growth by helping local businesses succeed in the global Halal market across various sectors.
In 2024, MIHAS recorded total sales of RM4.3 billion, with RM2.53 billion generated through the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) and RM1.77 billion contributed by the MIHAS showcase. This year’s MIHAS is expected to surpass the previous year’s achievements, showcasing the latest advancements and developments in the Halal sector. Under the theme “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence”, MIHAS 2025 continues to drive the growth of the thriving Halal sector.
At the MIHAS 2025 Soft Launch, YB Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Chairman of MATRADE, highlighted that one of the key highlights of MIHAS 2025 will be its AI-powered business matching sessions, driven by the newly launched Madani Digital Trade (MDT) introduced in March 2025. Madani Digital Trade is designed to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to expand their market reach globally and facilitate seamless cross-border digital trade.

YBhg. Datuk Hanafi Sakri, Deputy Secretary General (Industry) of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), also shared that Malaysia has maintained its top position in the Global Islamic Economy Indicator rankings for ten consecutive years, ahead of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates. MIHAS is instrumental in solidifying Malaysia’s position as the top leader in the global Halal industry, in line with the objectives of the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030. The Halal Industry Master Plan 2030 aims to strengthen and internationalise Malaysia’s halal ecosystem by improving existing initiatives and introducing high-impact programmes aligned with the government's direction.
As part of the MIHAS internationalisation initiative, it was announced that the MIHAS Pavilion will be organised in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November 2025 at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Building on its successful debut in Dubai last year, MIHAS@Shanghai aims to leverage the growing demand for Halal products among Chinese consumers. As the world’s second-largest economy and one of the fastest-growing markets, the China market presents significant opportunities for Malaysian businesses. The event will also foster valuable business connections between international suppliers and Chinese distributors and retailers.
MIHAS 2025 will be held on 17 to 20 September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), featuring over 1.5 million Halal products and services from fourteen industry clusters. Read more on the 21st edition of the Malaysia International Halal Showcase here.
