YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, at the Global Halal Summit (GHaS) 2025 opening ceremony
Held from 17 to 20 September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), the 21st edition of MIHAS is themed “Pinnacle of Halal Excellence”, reflecting its focus on innovation, digitalisation, and sustainable initiatives to drive the growth of the Halal economy. At the opening ceremony, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, emphasised that the halal industry is a key contributor to Malaysia’s economic development. In line with the Halal Industry Master Plan 2030, which aims to position Malaysia as the world’s leading halal hub, the halal sector is projected to contribute RM231 billion to the national GDP, driven by the strong demand for halal food, finance, and tourism. Exports of halal products and services are also expected to reach RM80 billion by 2030.
Additionally, Dato’ Seri Anwar highlighted that MIHAS 2025 will leverage the Madani Digital Trade platform to enhance cross-border business matching.
